The Model Aeronautical Association of Australia (MAAA) is Australia's National organisation that creates all of our safety rules and regulations that we abide by. Through their expertise, we can have confidence that all our needs are being met in regards to insurance cover and, should an incident occur, have them communicate with the insurance company and CASA, if need be. When non-affiliated pilots have a run-in with CASA, significant costs are involved which can run into the thousands.
The Model Aeronautical Association of Queensland (MAAQ) is the body delegated by the Model Aeronautical Association of Australia (MAAA) to be responsible for all aspects of model flying in Queensland.
The Association numbers over 2300 members, with more than 59 affiliated clubs. It is also recognized as the sole representative organization for the sport in Queensland by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) which is the world wide governing body for all forms of sporting aviation, including model flying through (MAAA) and Australian Sports Aviation Confederation.
